A slight change of pace today, as we mixed things up a little.
Gone was the usual CrossFit warm-up of endless squats, push-up and burpees, and in came “Dodgeball”. And I tell you: these guys and gals meant business today. Sure there were smiles and laughter (and squats, push-ups and burpees), but these were a thin mask over the face of pure competitiveness!
Dodgeball at CrossFit London: Not for the faint of heart…
We followed this up with some work on the snatch balance, aiming to catch the bar in as a deep an overhead squat as possible.
We finished things up with partner WOD called the Big (Friendly) Chipper:
- 25 Burpees*
- 100 Squat cleans
- 40 Push-ups*
- 100 Bar hops
- 40 Sit-ups
- 100 Push-press
- 2x Alleyway run*
In each case only one partner was working at a time while the other provided “encouragement”. Exercises marked with a * were performed with partners tethered together with a rubber band in order to foster team spirit (and not just ‘cos I was in the mood for messing with folk…)
