Andrew Stemler was london’s 1st Crossfit level 2 Certified trainer and has been teaching Crossfit in the capital since 2005.
He is a passionate advocate of Crossfit, but his boundless enthusiasm is moderated by 49 years worth of life experience. ( so, yes, he’s almost 50)
If you put any value on them, he also has (too) many fitness and sports qualifications with bodies that declare themselves to be professional
These include the Register of Exercise Professionals, BWLA (the British Weightlifting Association), the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association), the UKKA (the United Kingdom Kettlebell Association, now no more), UK Athletics, SABA (Schools Amateur Boxing Association), ABA (Amateur Boxing Association) and a wedge of martial arts certificates.
He has a degree in Law and Sociology, a post-grad in Property Management, and, for most of his life, ran an East End Estate Agency.
However in 1997 he gave up a life devoted to cigarettes (a 100 a day habit) and began getting fit. He was so horrified with the low teaching standards that he almost immediately started going to the instructor/teacher training course himself, rather than tolerate the poor quality muddle that instructors paased off as tuition. He spent 3 years as a doorman( bouncer) in London’s East End when he turned 40 as part of his midlife crisis.
He is currently studying sports science
He tends to wear a neck scarf that most people think doesn’t suit him.
