POWERLIFTING &

STRENGTH

Our Powerlifting and strength classes are focused around the three power lifts: Back Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift.   However, we also include the strict press and look to develop your strict pull-up and ring dip. We start people off with an easy to follow program then design individualized programmes as you develop

You can join the classes at any stage, but you are expected to be familiar with the basics of the lifts before you join.

However, we will review and support the development of your form and technique

CLASS STRUCTURE

Each  class has  a theme, although you are free to pursue the lifts you want. These classes are about you and what you want to do. Classes include accessory lifts and specialised coaching and some of our coaches are  sports and massage therapists, so you often get a handy thumb in your trap to help you on your way.

On Monday some concentrate on the Press, Tuesday the Deadlift, Friday it’s Bench and Bicep night, and Saturday it’s Squat fun.

We make sure you have the option of choosing the accessory work you want: some want to build extra muscle ( who doesn’t want to look good naked?) so you are guided towards hypertrophic work, others need to fix imbalances, others use the class to support their aerobic work so their accessory drill focus on building endurance. If you like using bands, paused squats, or block presses this is the place for you

Prerequisites

If you have experience in the three power lifts, you’re welcome to start attending classes. There are no minimum strength requirements.

If you are new to CrossFit and don’t know the basics of the lifts, or just want to gain some confidence before you start, book into our Fundamentals classes sessions.

Our Powerlifting and strength classes run 4 times a week, and whilst each session has a theme you’ll be able to pick the lift/lifts you want to do!
